Our Surgical Services

Our surgeons are trained to perform a wide range of oral and maxillofacial procedures, from routine extractions to complex full-arch restorations. Each service is performed with careful planning and a focus on your long-term oral health. Below is an overview of the procedures we offer.

Dental Implants

Replace missing teeth with permanent, bone-anchored implants that look and function like natural teeth. We offer single tooth replacement, implant-supported bridges, and full-arch restoration options.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Impacted or problematic wisdom teeth can cause pain, infection, and damage to neighboring teeth. Our surgeons perform wisdom teeth removal with in-office anesthesia options to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting restores the density and volume of your jaw needed to support dental implants or address bone loss caused by tooth extraction or gum disease. We tailor each graft to your needs.

Tooth Extractions

From simple extractions to complex surgical cases, our team handles a full range of removal procedures, including teeth that are broken, impacted, or otherwise difficult to remove.

Facial Trauma

Our surgeons are trained in the repair of facial injuries, including fractures of the jaw and surrounding facial bones. We work to restore both function and appearance after traumatic injury.

Oral Pathology & Biopsies

Unusual growths or changes in your oral tissue may require evaluation and biopsy. Our team assesses and treats a wide range of oral conditions, with early detection as a top priority.

Sinus Lifts

A sinus lift adds bone to the upper jaw to create a stable foundation for implants when natural bone height is insufficient. It is a common preparatory step before upper arch implant placement.

All-on-X Implants

All-on-X replaces an entire arch of teeth using as few as four implants as anchors. It is a fixed, long-term alternative to removable dentures for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth.

Choosing the best oral and maxillofacial surgeon is vital when you require any type of surgical procedure. You should seek the best techniques and state-of-the-art care for your surgical needs. At Legacy Oral Surgery and Implants, all three of our modern dental offices use the latest equipment and innovative treatments so you get the best results.

Why Patients Choose Legacy Oral Surgery

Patients come to us from across New Jersey and New York, many referred by their general dentists because of the depth of training and range of procedures our surgical team offers. Here’s what sets our practice apart.

Dual MD/DDS Surgeons

Our surgeons hold both dental and medical degrees and completed their residency training at respected hospital programs in the region. That level of training means our team is prepared to handle complex cases that require both medical and surgical judgment.

Our staff works directly with your insurance provider to make sure your benefits are put to use. For costs not covered by insurance, financing options are available to help you move forward without financial stress.

Full Range of Anesthesia Options

We offer local anesthesia, IV sedation, and general anesthesia, all administered in-office. Patients with dental anxiety or complex medical needs can receive care in a comfortable, controlled setting without needing a hospital visit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions Answered

What is the difference between a dentist and an oral surgeon?

A dentist helps you maintain your oral health with cleanings, exams, and preventive care, while an oral surgeon handles more complex procedures like wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, and jaw surgery. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires years of advanced hospital training to treat issues involving bones, soft tissues, and facial structure. If you’re facing impacted third molars or need a bone graft, your dentist may refer you to a specialized oral surgeon.

You should see an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth removal if your third molars are impacted, causing pain, or have the potential to crowd your natural teeth. Oral and maxillofacial surgery ensures proper extraction to avoid infection, decay, or jaw issues. An oral surgeon uses cutting edge technology to remove wisdom teeth safely and comfortably, often before they erupt to avoid future complications and preserve long-term oral health.

Dental implants offer a more secure and permanent solution than traditional dentures. Implants integrate with your jawbone, providing a stable foundation for a natural looking smile and preserving your bone structure. An oral surgeon performs this procedure as part of advanced oral and maxillofacial surgery. Unlike dentures, implants function like natural teeth and help prevent the bone loss that can occur after tooth extraction, improving your long-term oral health.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery treats a wide range of conditions, from impacted wisdom teeth to jaw misalignment, facial trauma, and oral cancer. An oral surgeon can also correct birth defects like cleft palate or perform bone grafts to support dental implants. These procedures are typically more complex than routine dental care and often require cutting edge technology to ensure optimal results and restore both function and appearance.

Cutting edge technology allows oral surgeons to diagnose and treat issues with greater precision, safety, and comfort. At Legacy Oral Surgery, your oral surgeon uses advanced imaging and surgical tools for everything from wisdom teeth removal to dental implants. These innovations support minimally invasive techniques, reduce healing time, and help create a natural looking smile. Technology also improves outcomes in oral and maxillofacial surgery, making complex procedures more predictable and efficient.
